Finally, on flavorwire.com, and although Banned Book Week is not until October, here are some "Famous Authors’ Funniest Responses to Their Books Being Banned."

Throwback Thursday - Ethan's Flick

Over on boingboing.net, they recently made hay of the YouTube video posted by Ethan Gilsdorf on his YouTube channel four years ago.  And why not?  It's a fun little Super 8 film turned into a video from the 1980s showing Ethan and friends playing Dungeon & Dragons.  While grainy, one can definitely enjoy seeing all of the old dice (and so many!) as well as the classic goldenrod character sheets.

Also, the map attached to the inside of the DM's screen is clearly from the adventure G3 Hall of the Fire Giant King.

Finally, note the excellent 1E AD&D DM's screen, itself a classic.  Good times!

Events & Play Wednesday - LGG Events

There are some upcoming events at Lake Geneva Games I thought I might mention for those in the area or who might be visiting Wisconsin.  Every Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm is Open Boardgaming.  Open Boardgaming also takes place on the First Sunday of each month from Noon to Nine.  There is a Facebook event set up for this Thursday, June 16th, here and one for the next First Sunday event, July 3rd, here.

Also, this Saturday, June 18th, is an open casual event for all Dice Masters collectors and players called Dice Masters Lives!  A Facebook event has been set up for that one here.

Finally, if you love Magic the Gathering, please stop in the store for Friday Night Magic on Friday, of course, at 6 pm and the store also runs a Free MtG Standard event on Monday evening at 6 pm.  No sign up is required but get there in plenty of time to make sure you can be included!

RPG Media Monday - Warcraft

The Warcraft movie has more than its share of detractors so I think I will post some positive stuff before I go to see it today or tomorrow.  Over on pajiba.com, their article says "'Warcraft' Review: Now That's Damned Good Fantasy. No, Seriously. I'm Surprised Too."  Read more here.

Also, on polygon.com, check out how "Jamie Lee Curtis cosplays at Warcraft premiere, yells 'Leeroy Jenkins'" here.

Finally, on denofgeek.com, they tell us "Warcraft movie struggles in US, hits big in China."  Get the details here.
