The Friday Grab Bag - Tolkien Reading Day

Half Price Books sent me a reminder by email that today, March 25th, is Tolkien Reading Day. They also sent a link to a page with some of their newest acquisitions here.

According to Wikipedia, it's the thirteenth anniversary of the day of reading and remembrance and there's a bit more information on it here and Tolkien Gateway has a dedicated page for it here.

But over on tolkiensociety.org, The Tolkien Society has a regular page for it here and a page especially for 2016 here.

The Friday Grab Bag - Late August CMG eBay Store Sale

I'm trying to clear out a little space on the shelves and make some room in the CMG eBay Store for some fresh listings next week. To do that, I am running a sale on all of my current "fixed-price" listings for a day or two. Please do check things out as I am sure you'll find something you like at a reasonable price. The Friday Grab Bag - What's New in the CMG eBay Store?

There are dozens and dozens of new listings in the CMG eBay Store since last I prompted folks to have a look: 70+ RPG items, 80+ Miniatures listings, wargames, boardgames, card games, and many other gaming items. There are some auction style listings but most are Buy It Now listings with prices set somewhat below what I have researched through eBay and other gaming item outlets. So, please, have a look and enjoy these screen caps of just some of the offerings. Since I managed to add so may things but am nearing my listing limit, I am running a quick sale at 10% Off throughout the store. Now sure how long this will last. As soon as I have sold enough stuff to squeeze in my next pile from the closet, the sale will end. So, grab yourself a nice gaming treat here!

The Friday Grab Bag - Even More CMG eBay Offerings

Dozens of fresh listings this month, so have another quick peek at the Creative Mountain eBay Store here. Maybe there is something there to make your gaming more fun! Lots of miniatures, RPG stuff, gently-used boardgames, wargaming goods, and more. First up, there are some Paizo products from the early Pathfinder days. Check out the Bonus Bestiary. And of course, what collection is complete with the trio that got Golarion started, The Kobold King series starting with the ultra-rare Hollow's Last Hope? But there are other RPG goodies like the flavorful A Magical Society Silk Road from Expeditious Retreat Press.

Also, have a look at minis like Warmachine's Rutger Shaw or the Dragon Strike horde of Orcs, Bugbears, and Trolls. If you're feeling particular nasty toward your players, there's always the massive Black Dragon.

Finally, don't forget to look into the corners where you'll find the tome from Chaosium highlighting Call of Cthulhu fave 1920s Masks of Nyarlathotep. Or the classic Sanctuary board game based on the Thieves World setting. Or maybe you just need some Reaper Master Series Paint?

The Friday Grab Bag - CMG eBay Offerings

A couple of the treats include this classic periodical for the Dying Earth RPG based on the work of Jack Vance. This issue features articles from folks like Monte Cook and Rich Baker. Check it out here.

Throwback Thursday - Replica of Nelson's Trafalgar Ship on eBay

If you go to eBay often enough, eventually you will something you never realized you wanted, now want desparately so, and could never justify owning nor trying to afford. Yesterday, that one thing appeared to me in the form of a full-scale "Replica of Nelson's Trafalgar Ship" of an eBay auction titled "Sailing Ship - HM Schooner Pickle - 97ft topsail schooner *NO RESERVE*." It already had one bid of £69,500.00 when I saw it, so there was no bottomfeeding on this one for me. Anyway, my extremely limited sailing ability and the fact that the poverty line often crests above me makes this being out of my reach for the best. Here's a pic they are running with it.

The Gamers: Hands Of Fate Necktie

Jen Page wore a specific necktie during the filming of The Gamers: Hands Of Fate. It is blood red and little crossbows all over it. Thus, it is very cool in and of itself. However, she has put it up on eBay and is sending 10% of the proceeds to Save the Children: Emergency Response, so that makes it even cooler. See more here!

Dungeon Bastard's Maps on eBay

Over on Bay, the Dungeon Bastard has put up his maps from The Worst Dungeon Crawl Ever that he drew for his event at Gen Con 2013. The proceeds are going to "Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary in Lake Odessa Michigan. Mackenzie's is the largest dog rescue in the Midwest and gets dogs from local county animal controls that would have to be euthanized. The dogs are rehabilitated (medically and behaviorally) and then adopted to their forever homes." See more here!
