Events & Play Wednesday - Gary Con VIII & Sprecher's

If you have some free time this weekend and are in the area or at least in driving distance make sure spend a day or two at Gary Con VII being held at the Grand Geneva Resort (where late 1970s' Gen Cons were held!).  It's shaping up to be a good crowd even if the new venue and website troubles have caused some problems.  That won't affect the fun of gaming.  Get more details here.

Also, if you are at Gary Con VIII and plan to go "off campus" for some dining, remember that Champs has a Wednesday Burger special, Next Door Pub has the best thin crust pizza while Gino's East has the best Deep Dish, and Sprecher's Restaurant and Pub is where Alex Gygax earns his daily bread.  They've got some of the best food and brews as well as a renown Root Beer.  Anyone who shows their Gary Con VIII convention badge can also get a discount, so be sure to do that.  After our traditional game of Divine Right, I might head over there for the Fryday Fish Fry, myself!  Check out their menu here.
