Media News Monday - Star Wars, Shannara, & Batman v Superman

Some fans of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) were likely very excited to be at Comic-Con International: San Diego when Disney pulled out all of the stops. Read all about the surprises on io9.com here.

Also revealed in San Diego, MTV has been hard at work on The Shannara Chronicles (2015– ) and treat us to a trailer for it. Looking good!

Saturday Crowdfunding Roundup - Dungeon Keep, Reaper Bones, & Wardens of the Wild

Three Kickstarters of note this week with the first being "Age Past Dungeon Keep RPG Set" by mechlinski. This looks like an innovative way to make two-dimensional dungeon terrain with some three dimensional elements. See more here.

Of course the big one and running on short time due to an eighteen day funding period (perhaps to finish up before Gen Con) is "Reaper Miniatures Bones 3: The Search for Mr. Bones!" by Reaper Miniatures. Some think that it won't reach the heights of the previous two Kickstarters by these guys and that is probably the case. I think many people are still working their way through the ones they got in the first round and if they have even unpacked the second set, I'd be surprised if they've done more than sort them. But, it's good stuff and it's also hard to argue with the prices here.

Finally, check out "Wardens of the Wild: A Lorebook of Elves RPG Supplement" by Brian Berg. TPK Games has built a strong following and tight reputation as a company that delivers the goods. This latest sourcebook is already well-funded so jumping in just depends on if the subject matter strikes your fancy. Find out here.
